BGB Porsche 911 Carreras #38 and #83
2009 Grand-Am Koni Sports Car Challenge
Revo Technik is proud to announce its newly formed partnership with BGB Motorsports for the 11 race 2009 Grand-Am Koni Sports Car Challenge. Revo are primary sponsor for both the #83 and #38 BGB Porsche 911 Carreras. George Osmun, Sales Director for Revo Technik US:
“Motorsport participation is an important part of our engineering and development process. By racing with BGB Motorsports, we gain more on-track and are able to further improve our existing motorsports line, and improving the products that we offer our street customers.”
BGB’s partnership with Revo extends beyond the race track, to BGB’s expanding street performance business, where BGB offers Revo’s extensive product line of ECU reflashes to their discerning street customers. Defending Daytona Fresh From Florida 200 race winner Craig Stanton returns to drive the #83 BGB Motorsports Porsche 997 that carries the Revo livery during Fridayafternoon’s race, which precedes the 47th running of the 24 hours of Daytona. The 3 hour Koni Sports Car Challenge Series race is televised, and will air on SPEED TV on tape delay during the weeks following the race.
BGB Motorsports is an ambitious, professional motorsports business. The team’s facility is located less than 15 miles from Daytona International Speedway and the headquarters for the Grand American Road Racing Association. During their 5th season of Grand Am Koni Challenge competition, BGB Porsches won 3 races, and the #83 BGB Motorsports/Weeden Consultants Porsche 997 finished 4th in the Team Championship with BGB drivers Craig Stanton and Jon Miller taking 4th place and 5th places in the Driver’s Championships. While the team was unable to improve on last year’s 3rd place finish in the Team and Driver’s Championship, they were a threat to the 2008 championship during every single race, up until the final moments of the 2008 season. BGB operates as a customer oriented business, running cars under the Grand American Road Racing, Sports Car Club of America and Porsche Club of America sanctioning bodies. The 2008 season marked the team’s sophomore year with Porsche’s latest 911 chassis, the 997 Carrera.
